Ponca Remembrance Walk from Niobrara to Barneston, NE. The 273-mile walk commemorates the route of the tribe’s forced removal in the 1870s. Elders will begin the walk on April 27, which will culminate with the Tribe signing of the deed of ownership to a 19.5-mile segment of the Chief Standing Bear Trail. Registration deadline is April 1. Power of the Wind Art Show ~ The Power of Wind Art Show is co-sponsored by the Kregel Windmill Factory Museum and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Kimmel Education and Research Center. Open to all ages! Art or written work needs to be original and illustrate or represent how wind is used for energy. Art forms showcasing wind power can include posters, paintings, photographs, illustrations, photographs, sculptures, original stories, poems, and more.  Art entries are Nebraska state fair eligible.  Awards will be presented to the top artists in each category.  Accepting entries at Kimmel Education & Research Center April 20th through April 22nd.
