If you haven’t already made plans for the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017, now is the time!┬áMany lodging places have been booked for more than a year, but you may still find spots in smaller communities.

A variety of events is planned in the Southeast Nebraska communities located in the prime viewing path for the eclipse. Beatrice has a full schedule of activities beginning on the weekend and continuing through the day of the eclipse. Crete and Wilber are also offering events, along with tours, presentations, viewing points, and food fairs.

Falls City will host “Dine in the Dark” at noon on the day of the eclipse, and Pawnee City features multiple viewing sites, entertainment, and food vendors.

After the eclipse, Wymore’s Great Plains Welsh Heritage Centre is hosting a watermelon feed that’s free to the public.
